End of Season Hike

Last week the Badger took the boys on a Badger Patrol expedition in the mountains. We love the mountains and are eager to spend as much time in them as possible now that we're living at their feet once more. The only problem is that we moved here in October and there's not much time left before they are snowed in for the winter. The Badger figured he could probably get in one last hike into the high country this season, so off they went.

The Badger prepared well. The boys were dressed very warmly. He even convinced them to put on long underwear, which they think is silly.

The scenery they saw was glorious.

The boys really enjoyed being in one of the most beautiful places on earth, even in late fall.

After they had hiked up aways, the weather turned. Light snow flurries convinced them to turn around. They hadn't gone very far before they were in the middle of a swirling snow shower, making their return to the car into a grand adventure.

I love it when the kids can have these kinds of experiences with their dad.

A New Beginning

I've been blogging since 2005 and I love it. It is therapeutic for me. I can express myself in writing and pictures while allowing all my friends and family to know what's going on in my life.

Right now our family is on a bit of a downswing. My Badger is unemployed and we are temporarily staying with family. In this state of transition and uncertainty, I decided to start a new blog. It's kind of like having a new notebook with clean pages, full of possibilities. It may sound strange, but it gives me hope.
